Sailing the Seven Seas

Did you know that the term “Sailing the Seven Seas” was invented by the Venetians to refer to the trip between Venice and Crete?  We have left Greece and are on the ferry to Venice to begin the next section in our trip.  This morning I took out the learn-to-speak-Italian book and I have begun to conjugate new verbs.  Essare; to be: io sonno, tu sei, lei è, lui/lei è… you get the idea.

While I am excited for Italy and their legendary culture of food, I am sad to leave Greece.  The warm and inviting culture of Greece made travels there a delight.  If the world were more like the Greeks, there would be fewer problems and better olive oil.

From somewhere in the Adriatic!
